Terms of Service

Effective date: June 10, 2026

The short version

Chord Sequence is a free, browser-based music tool. Use it to make music. Don't misuse it. We don't collect your personal data. Your work stays in your browser. That's pretty much it.

Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using Chord Sequence at chordsequence.com, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the service. These terms apply to all visitors and users of the site.

Use of the service

Chord Sequence is provided free of charge for personal and educational use. You may:

  • Use the chord progression editor, bass tab player, tuner, metronome, and all other tools for any musical purpose
  • Export your progressions and recordings as audio files (WAV) for use in your own projects
  • Share links to the app or embed the URL in educational content

You may not:

  • Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract content from the site in a way that degrades service for other users
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or exploit the app beyond normal browser usage
  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws

User-submitted content

Some features allow users to submit content — such as song charts added to the community library. By submitting content, you represent that:

  • You have the right to share the content (e.g., chord charts are factual arrangements, not protected expression)
  • The content does not infringe any third-party copyright, trademark, or intellectual property rights
  • The content is accurate to the best of your knowledge

We reserve the right to remove any submitted content at our discretion without notice.

Intellectual property

The Chord Sequence application, design, code, audio samples, and written content are owned by Elías Corsino Saldaña unless otherwise noted. All rights reserved.

Music theory knowledge — scales, chord names, progressions, intervals — is not owned by anyone. The chord progressions you create with this tool are yours.

No warranties

Chord Sequence is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times. Use it at your own discretion.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Chord Sequence and its creator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — the service, including loss of data stored in your browser.

Third-party services

Chord Sequence is hosted on Netlify and uses Supabase for the community song library database. Your use of those services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party services.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Changes take effect when published on this page. The effective date at the top will be updated accordingly. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Dominican Republic, without regard to conflict of law principles.
